1. Overview
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how eg8.co.za and the eg8 online order portal (eg8.co.za/orders) use them, and how you can manage your preferences. The site is operated by eg8. Policy version 1.0.
2. What cookies are
When you use our site, small files called cookies are stored on your device. They help the site work properly and securely, remember your settings and keep you signed in to your account.
If you allow them, optional cookies help us understand how the site is used, and let us show content from other providers, such as a map.
We also use similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage. In this policy we call all of these "cookies".
3. Cookies we use
Necessary — always on
Needed for the site and portal to work securely. They cannot be switched off.

Analytics — optional
Would help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We do not use any analytics tools at present. If we add one, it will only load after you allow Analytics, and we will list it here.

Other resources
Our pages use fonts served by Google Fonts. These set no cookies, but your browser sends your IP address to Google to download them.
4. Your choice and what happens by default
On your first visit — and again if your choice expires or we make a material change to this policy — a cookie banner lets you choose:
- Accept all — allows Analytics and Third-party services, and then loads them.
- Use necessary — keeps only Necessary cookies; optional services stay blocked.
- Manage Cookies — opens the preferences so you can switch each optional category on or off (Necessary is always on) and save your choice.
If you close the banner without choosing, we use Necessary cookies only and ask again on your next visit. Until you make a choice, no optional cookies or scripts load. Your choice is remembered for 6 months, after which we ask again.
5. Changing your choice
You can review or change your choice at any time with Cookie preferences, which is also in the footer of every page.
Changes apply from that point on. If you switch an optional category off, its services won't load again — cookies they already set may stay on your device until they expire or you delete them in your browser settings.
6. What we record
When you choose Accept all, Use necessary or Save preferences, we keep a record of the time of your choice, the categories you allowed, the action you took and the policy version in effect, linked to a random ID stored in your browser. It does not include your name, email address or IP address. We keep these records for 12 months and then delete them.
7. Your rights and how to contact us
You may withdraw your consent at any time using Cookie preferences, and you can delete cookies and site data in your browser at any time. Under POPIA — and the EU and UK GDPR where they apply — you also have rights of access, correction and objection; our Privacy Policy explains how to use them.
